Preserving History with Heritage Casement Windows in Warwickshire

This project was a picturesque farmhouse near Fillongley which dates back to the early 1600’s and is Grade II listed. Ideally situated between Coventry and Birmingham, but still off the beaten track in the countryside of Warwickshire. Our customer, Gowercroft Joinery, produced heritage casement windows using high end vacuum glazing.

One of the biggest challenges was how to preserve its historic authenticity whilst upgrading to modern standards. The existing windows were beyond economic repair and the client was seeking sympathetic replacements, which would also offer modern standards of energy efficiency and comfort. Vacuum glazing was the obvious answer.

Vacuum Glazing UK Ltd. supplied vacuum glass to the manufacturer of the heritage casement windows in order that they could fulfill this brief. The end client is so delighted that there have been two subsequent phases of work at the property, replacing further windows.
